Fix My Speaker

Water droplets being ejected from a phone speaker grille

Something wrong with your sound? Start with the symptom that matches yours. Each guide walks you through a quick diagnosis and sends you to the exact tool mode that fixes it.

Find your symptom

Muffled speaker after water

Your phone got wet and now everything sounds like it is playing through a towel. The most common speaker problem, and the most fixable.

Speaker crackling or distorted

The sound is there, but it buzzes, rattles, or breaks up. Could be debris touching the membrane, or the first sign of damage.

Earpiece quiet during calls

Music sounds fine but callers are faint. The small call speaker at the top of your phone needs separate attention.

Low speaker volume

Everything plays, but quieter than it used to. Usually dust, sometimes settings.

Dust in the speaker grille

Gradual decline, visible lint in the mesh. A cleaning routine, not an emergency.

Salt water in the speaker

Pool, sea, or sweat. Salt changes the rules because corrosion starts fast. Read this before you do anything else.

Speaker has no sound at all

Complete silence from one or both speakers. Work through the diagnostic to find out whether it is software, blockage, or hardware.

Water in the microphone

People cannot hear you well, but you hear them fine. The mic opening is blocked.

Not sure which one fits?

Run the speaker test first. It plays isolated left and right tones so you can hear exactly which speaker is struggling, then come back here and pick the matching guide.
