Frequency

Manual frequency slider for stubborn cases.

1. Set volume to maximum
2. Hold the speaker facing down
3. Unplug headphones and disconnect Bluetooth

Ready. Tap play to start.

ℹ️ Safe for your speakers — no louder than playing music. Stop if you hear rattling or distortion.

Sound can clear water and loose dust near the grille. It cannot repair hardware damage, corrosion from salt water, or water deep inside the phone.

Frequency Generator

The frequency generator gives you manual control. Drag the slider anywhere from 50 Hz to 20,000 Hz and press play. Use it when the preset cleaning modes did not fully clear the blockage and you want to hunt for your speaker’s exact resonant frequency.

When to use manual mode

Every speaker has a resonant frequency where it vibrates most strongly. The presets target the most common one, but manufacturing differences, cases, and the type of debris can shift it. If water eject helped a little but not completely, manual mode lets you fine tune.

How to sweep effectively

  1. Start at 165 Hz and play for 20 seconds with the speaker facing down.
  2. Move up slowly in 20 Hz steps, playing 10 seconds at each step.
  3. Listen and watch. The right frequency produces visibly stronger vibration and often moves visible droplets.
  4. Stay low. The useful cleaning range is roughly 100 to 400 Hz. Going higher rarely helps with water and just gets unpleasant.
  5. Do not exceed 60 seconds of continuous play at maximum volume. Give the speaker short rests between attempts.

A word of caution

Manual mode is powerful because it is unrestricted. Keep the volume at maximum only in the low range. Above 1,000 Hz, turn the volume down to a comfortable level. Never play tones with earbuds in your ears.

Frequently asked questions

What frequency should I use?
Start at 165 Hz for water. If that does not work, sweep slowly upward toward 400 Hz and listen for the point where you hear the most vibration or see droplets moving. Every speaker resonates slightly differently.
Is it safe to play high frequencies?
Yes at moderate volume, but keep the volume lower above 5,000 Hz. Very high frequencies at full volume are unpleasant and unnecessary for cleaning.
